The products and processes are becoming more and more complex and digitization will completely change our day-to-day work. Due to the complexity, improvement approaches such as the Six Sigma DMAIC reach their limits when optimizing processes. By extending the classical DMAIC approach to data-based concepts, such as data mining procedures, even complex processes in the context of Industry 4.0 and big data can be optimized in a purposeful way.
