Six Sigma Green Belt Certification at TU Dortmund 2019

Since 2014, the chair of Statistics (in cooperation with the Institute for Production Systems and the mts Consulting Partner) offers students of the TU Dortmund the opportunity to qualify as a Six-Sigma Green Belt. First the students are taught the theoretical foundations of the Six Sigma concept (DMAIC cycle). This is done by taking part in the lecture “The (Lean) Six Sigma Method” offered by the chair of Computational Statistics. In the next semester the students then have the opportunity to apply the learned methods in projects with industrial partners. The Green Belt program is managed by our Dr. Dietmar Stemann (Six Sigma Master Black Belt and Managing Director mts Consulting Partner). The industrial partners included companies such as Wilo SE, Deutsche Edelstahlwerke and Zapp Systems GmbH.
